Where have all the Mondays gone

Who likes Mondays? Probably no-one, really. Thus, inspired by a tweet of a fellow Monday-victim and two great classics, a songtext.

With Genealogical World of Phylogenetic Networks dormant, I have neglected Res.I.P. as well. Not because I ran out of topics, but simply because unpaid scientific work keeps me (too) busy.

Hence, a quick draft of lyrics to mourn the weekend's end.

Melody: Where have all the flowers gone, composed and originally performed by Pete Seeger

Where have all the weekends gone, long time passing?

Where have all the weekends gone, long time passing?
where have all the weekends gone, long time ago?
where have all the weekends gone?
Mondays swallowed each and everyone,
oh, when will they ever learn, oh, when will they ever learn?

Where have all the Mondays gone, long time passing?
where have all the Mondays gone, long time ago?
where have all the Mondays gone?
Didn‘t like them, killed off every single one*,
oh, when will they ever learn, oh, when will they ever learn?

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays gone, just time‘s passing.
Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursdays gone, who gives a damn?
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays gone
Fridays are the last to kill
when will get the four-day week, when will get the four-day week?

Now that also Friday‘s gone, long time passing.
Now that also Friday‘s gone, long time wasted.
Now that also Friday‘s gone,
the weekend finally arrived again
oh, when will they ever learn, oh, when will they ever learn?

Too soon the weekend will be gone, time fast passing.
Too soon the weekend will be gone, hard to keeping.
Too soon the weekend will be gone,
dreadful Monday‘s swallowed it again,
when will get the four-day week, when will get the four-day week?

Text: Me, today; much feeling like and inspired by *The Boomtown Rats‘ I don‘t like Mondays
